Despite heavy downfall of banking sector in the year 2008 and 2009, it is seen that banking field has grown tremendously and has proved one of the keystone of the economy with thousand of job opportunity available every year. The growing job opportunity available in banking sector has accounted the most demanding career prospect with the students these days. Banking as a career is know for it’s well paid, secure and status career no matter to which bank (public sector or private sector) the job is confined to. Banking professional believes in client establishment by interacting people in a positive way. Around 64 percent of total job in the banking sectors involves Office and administrative support workers so the career prospect in the banking sector is not confined to limited number of commerce graduate rather students from all sector of the educational background are recruited with good designation.

CAREER OPPORTUNITY IN BANKING

Career in banking is considered the most prominent career field with bright future prospect. With one’s choice and qualification there are ample of job opportunity available in the field of banking sector. Financial managers, commodities agents, accountants, and computer specialists are just a few of the professionals that make a bank run. Candidate with good communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and nature wise optimistic along with basic knowledge of industry is what bank looks for before hiring.

Candidate can begin the career in banking sector with a starting salary of 8 to 10 thousand depending upon the eligibility and the designation of the candidate. Candidate with Business Management degree or other higher level degree are hired by private and foreign banks with good salary packages of around Rs 25000 - 30000 a month which even goes higher depending upon the experience of the candidate in the relevant field.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Most of the bank conducts an all India examination for getting into the banking sector. Clerk, provisionary officer, is some of the important examination conducted by almost every public and private sector examination. The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing to the examination are 10+2 or graduation from a Recognized institution/university for clerk and PO exam respectively.

@ Zubed, I agree to you that the SBI PO exam is quite difficult, i also have appeared in this exam. i have gained gud knowledge and i am sure of qualifying it in next attempt. as far as clerical exam is concerned i think its not at all difficult, i actually have qualified the clerical exam of Corporation bank, but want to go for PO so trying again.

Hey i have applied for Probationary and clerical vacancies of many banks, not got selected in any of them :( SBI PO exam is really very difficult to qualify, however in my opinion to qualify the clerical exam what you require the most, is speed, and ya don't get disappointed in case you cant qualify that in first attempt. This will give a good experience and help to perform your best in next attempt. Gud luck.
