The basic, solid and structural foundation of Indian hospitality lies on the Federation of Hotel & Restaurant Associations of India, the FHRAI Education Trust, and the FHRAI-Institute of Hospitality Management. In the year 1955 the Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India was established as a national body now comprising about 3500 members, thousands of experts, specialists, senior executives, professionals and employees.

The campus is covered area of 1.25 lac sq. feet (11617 sq. mts), the Institute has three main buildings, the academic block, a men's hostel and a ladies hostel. All the buildings have been constructed to state-of-the-art technical standards, with equipment and furnishings of high quality.
The air-conditioned academic block is a three-floored building with a basement having eight classrooms, five kitchens, a student-dining hall and a training restaurant. The well-equipped and modern training kitchens referred to as laboratories provide academic and practical training in real-time conditions.

The separate hostels for gentlemen and ladies offer a choice of single, double or triple occupancy rooms. Fees include all meals for students when they are on the campus, as well as basic facilities such as bedding etc. There is also a "Tuck Shop", a shopping store for the students, and many supporting facilities and equipments. Hostel rooms are equipped with desert coolers during the summer and room heaters in winters.
